Rebuilding Hope and Livelihoods in Türkiye’s Earthquake-Affected Regions
Building Markets Launches a New Chapter of Hope and Opportunity under the RE-SEED Project!
03 November 2025
Building Markets is proud to announce that we have joined the Resilient Employment and Socio-Economic Development in Earthquake-Affected Regions of Türkiye (RE-SEED) project, that aims to transform recovery efforts following the devastating earthquakes of 6 February 2023 into sustainable and inclusive economic opportunities for both host and refugee communities. The Resilient Employment and Socio-economic Development in Earthquake-Affected Regions of Türkiye (RE-SEED) project is co-funded by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in cooperation with the Union of Municipalities of Türkiye and Building Markets.
Within the RE-SEED framework, Building Markets focuses on empowering small businesses and entrepreneurs to move from recovery to resilience. We help business owners complete their registration, enabling them to operate legally, access new markets and financing opportunities, and create sustainable jobs within their communities.
At the same time, we connect local talent, both jobseekers and individuals currently working Informally, to stable, formal employment opportunities. This includes targeted support for women and youth, ensuring that everyone has a fair chance to rebuild their livelihoods with dignity.
Each registered business and every individual gaining formal employment represents more than a statistic, it reflects renewed confidence, secure income, and a stronger community foundation for the future.
Working hand in hand with municipalities, private-sector partners, and community organizations, we aim to revive local economies, rebuild trust, and strengthen the social fabric across Türkiye’s most affected regions.
